Description
In 1977 Tom Sims (Sims Skateboards & Snowboards) made the first two laminated skateboards, produced by a water-ski company. A good idea. At the time riding for Sims, the two boards went to Reddog and Bob Biniak. These boards were 1/4 and 3/8 of an inch thinner and half the weight of all other production boards and they were above and beyond the best boards Reddog and Bob had ever ridden. Later that year Tom Sims created the skateboard company Sims Skateboards and sponsored many of the professional skateboarders of the 1980s including Lester Kasai, Jeff Phillips and Christian Hasoi. The Sims Pure Juice 27" was the most popular board with the Sims competition team from 1976 to 1979.
